A New York City Department of Small Business Services tally found that looters either stole merchandise from or damaged those businesses in the days between May 29 and June 9, the New York Post reported.
Much of the looting took place in Manhattan, but looters also hit small businesses in the Bronx, according to the outlet.
A Department of Small Business Services spokesperson told the outlet the agency is still working to calculate the financial toll the looting took on the businesses.
