NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man who was caught on surveillance video choking and stabbing his ex-girlfriend as she pushed their infant son in a stroller last month has been arrested, the NYPD said Tuesday.

Carlos Gonzalez, 25, of Manhattan, was arrested and charged with attempted murder Tuesday morning, police said.

Police say Gonzalez was walking with his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend as she pushed their baby in a stroller on Sedgwick Avenue, near Jerome Park Reservoir, in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx around 7 p.m. on July 14 when the two got into an argument.

As the argument escalated, Gonzalez put the woman in a chokehold and dragged her to the ground, taking the baby and stroller down in the process, surveillance video from the scene shows.

Gonzalez then stabbed the woman several times before fleeing the scene, police said.

The woman and her baby were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were both listed in stable condition, the NYPD said. Gonzalez's attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
