NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man they say stole a coat off of an 88-year-old woman in the Bronx on Monday.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the woman was standing on the corner of East 149th Street and 3rd Avenue in the Mott Haven section when officials say the suspect approached her and snatched her coat from her hand, which contained approximately $380 in cash.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
"$380 that was for the rent," the victim told WABC-TV, adding that she believes that she was followed and targeted after stopping at the ATM.Authorities released a photo of thesuspect and ask anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
