RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A photo circulating on social media in a New Jersey community shows two students mocking the death of George Floyd.

The photo shows one of the boys wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and a police badge as he kneels on the neck of the other boy, who is wearing an ape mask as he lies on the floor with his hands behind his back, according to NJ.com.

Multiple parents told the outlet that the unmasked boy in the photo is a student at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Raritan Township.

District School Superintendent Jeffrey Moore said police have been investigating racist social media posts circulating in the community recently, but he didn’t say if that includes the photo in question.

“We’ve had recent incidents on social media involving students, and incidents of infiltration with racist slurs on videoconference platforms,” Moore told NJ.com.

Moore didn’t say if any disciplinary actions have been taken against any students so far.

“In any incident involving pupils, or any incident involving law enforcement, we’re very limited in what we can share,” he said.

Raritan Township police wouldn’t comment since juveniles are involved.

Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck in May. His death sparked protests nationwide that continued throughout the summer.
