NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD has deemed the suspicious disappearance of a Staten Island man a homicide.
Michael Stewart, 40, a father of two, vanished on December 20 after he was last seen at O'Neills, a pub on Forest Ave in the Westerleigh section of the island.
The New York Post reports, Stewart texted his mother saying 'please help me,' on December 21.
Cops questioned Stewart's friend 33-year-old Angelo Nesimi and his girlfriend Zammara Sanchez.
Stewart and Nesimi were seen on surveillance footage, horsing around inside of a Port Richmond barber shop.
Reports say Nesimi was arrested on December 31, for violently attacking Sanchez. The Post reports, that Sanchez told cops Nesimi made her go with him to get rid of a body in New Jersey.
A source told the Staten Island advance that Nesimi and Sanchez were seen on surveillance video tossing something into a Perth Amboy dumpster. The NYPD visited a Pennsylvania landfill last week to search for the body, but they came up empty handed.
Cops have not made an arrest.
