NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A pair of New Jersey men have admitted to distributing fentanyl and cocaine, federal prosecutors said Thursday.
Tyrell Wilson, 36, of Rahway, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 380 or more grams of cocaine base and one count of possession with intent to distribute 280 or more grams of cocaine base in Newark federal court on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey said in a press release.
Marvin Lagrier, 39, of Newark, meanwhile, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 40 or more grams of fentanyl on Aug. 12, the attorney's office said. Lagrier was working for Newark Housing Authority when he was arrested, according to the release.
Law enforcement officers executing a search warrant at an apartment in Essex County back in September 2019 arrested Wilson and Lagrier as they tried to flee, prosecutors said.
The officers found a "large amount" of cocaine base, heroin and fentanyl inside the apartment, Wilson's vehicle and a backpack Wilson tossed while he was trying to run away, according to prosecutors.
They also found drug paraphernalia, a gun and several rounds of ammunition at the scene, prosecutors said.
Attorney information for the two men wasn't immediately available Friday.
