NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two alleged Bronx gang members were arrested for the fatal shooting of a rival gang member and other crimes over the course of eight years, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

The men, 25-year-old Justis Colon and 23-year-old Ariel Martinez, are part of a Castle Hill-based gang called “670,” officials said.
Since 2014, Colon and Martinez worked to fund the crew’s lifestyle by selling heroin, crack cocaine, oxycodone, and marijuana, among other drugs. The pair also committed check fraud and unemployment fraud and commercial burglaries all while having illegal firearms, according to court documents.
Earlier this year, Colon and Martinez also allegedly murdered rival gang member Joshua Garcia, 27, on April 23 near 1713 Clay Avenue in Mount Hope and also injured two others during the drive-by shooting, prosecutors said.
“The fusillade of bullets that killed Joshua Garcia in April and wounded two other victims is a level of violence that shocks the conscience and can never be accepted,” said NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell. “Now, thanks to our determined investigation, the two alleged gang members charged in this case will face swift and meaningful punishment – a message to anyone else considering such violence on our city streets.”
The men were charged with racketeering conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering, murder with a firearm, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon in aid of racketeering and other firearms offenses.
Both Colon and Martinez are facing life in prison or the death penalty.
