Prosecutors accused Juan Jimenez, a 23-year-old from Union City, and Nicholas Seda-Corales, a 24-year-old from West New York, of robbing a bank with handguns on April 8.

The two allegedly entered the building wearing dark clothing and facemasks.

Jimenez jumped behind the counter with his gun drawn and rifled through tellers drawers while Seda-Corales prevented people from leaving, according to the criminal complaint.

Police later raided Jimenez’s apartment, where they found three handguns and clothing that matched that of the bank robbers.

Both men are currently in custody.

They each face a maximum sentence of life in prison for using a firearm during a violent crime in addition to the bank robbery charges, which carry a 20-year maximum sentence.
