NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Five hundred drones will light up the lower Manhattan sky Wednesday night -- spelling out "#BringThemHomeNOW" -- as part of "Lights for Liberty," an event organized by multiple Jewish organizations demanding the release of the approximately 140 remaining hostages in Gaza kidnapped by Hamas during its Oct. 7 terror attack in southern Israel.

Mayor Eric Adams is slated to make remarks at the event, which kicks off Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. There will be a lighting of the Hanukkah menorah at 6:45 p.m.

The drone show -- billed as "an appeal for hostage release in the NYC sky" -- is slated for 7 p.m. at Esplanade Plaza at Battery Park, behind 225 Liberty Street.

Relatives of hostages will also be in attendance, including Amit and Michael Levi, siblings of hostage Naama Levi; Yaela David, sister of hostage Evyatar David; Daria Gonen, sister of hostage Romi Gonen; and Shai Binyamin, daughter of hostage Ron Binyamin.

Randi Zuckerberg, CEO of Zuckerberg Media and HUG will also speak at the event.

"The aerial light display is a hearfelt call for the immediate release of all hostages held by Hamas," according to a flyer for "Lights for Liberty."

The event -- organized by the Israeli American Council, in partnership with UJA Federation New York, American Jewish Committee, Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, Union for Reform Judaism, #EndJewHatred, Stand With Us, and others -- will also include a performance by Israeli musician Eden Hason.
