NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A teen was stabbed by a mob that chased him through Times Square on Thursday night, police said as they searched for a dozen or more suspects Friday.
At least seven people were arrested immediately after the attack, but the search for many more continued following the stabbing around 5:30 p.m.
The stabbing happened at 251 West 42nd St.—just yards from the migrant shelter at the Candler Building, where two NYPD officers were attacked by a mob of men last month in a case that made national news.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy believed to be a migrant from Nicaragua, was chased down by a group and stabbed in the back as the area was packed with people.
The teen was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in stable condition.

Mohamed Belal was among the dozens of shocked witnesses who watched on as a male plunged a knife into the boy.
"I scared, because I see someone with blood from everywhere, from his back—it's just something that's bad," he said.
The alleged stabber was among those chased down by cops and arrested. Charges against him were pending.
No images of the at-large suspects have been released as the NYPD reviews surveillance video in the area.
It was a busy night for the NYPD in the area. About two hours after the stabbing, they responded to West 43rd Street and Broadway, right outside the Hard Rock Cafe, where a 28-year-old man was beaten and left lying on the pavement.
The man was also hospitalized at Bellevue, where he was treated for injuries that included lacerations to his head.
Three arrests were made in that attack, and police said they're searching for at least two more suspects.
