Bicyclist delivering pizza fatally struck in Upper East Side hit-and-run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 42-year-old man delivering pizza on an E-bike was killed in a hit-and-run on the Upper East Side Sunday afternoon, police said.

According to an NYPD spokesman, at around at 4:30 p.m., the victim was riding north on Second Avenue when he was hit by a black Chevy Tahoe traveling westbound on 97th Street.

The SUV drove off but the vehicle later found abandoned at 96th Street and Third Avenue, officials said.

The cyclist was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

There have been no arrests made and the incident an investigation is ongoing.
