NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A four-year-old boy survived a five-story fall from an apartment building in Brooklyn on Tuesday night, police said.

The child was recovering Wednesday after being rushed to Maimonides Medical Center following the fall at 131 East 21st St. in Flatbush shortly before 8:45 p.m.

The boy was apparently playing with the side panels of an air conditioning unit when he plummeted from the window and fell 55 feet to the concrete below, sources told 1010 WINS.

He was hospitalized in serious but stable condition. He's expected to make a full recovery.

Police spoke with family members who were home at the time. No criminality is suspected as the investigation continues, sources said.
