NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Bronx man has been arrested in connection to the rape of an elderly woman this July, police announced Tuesday.
Reginald Bellot, 28, of East Tremont, faces related charges after he allegedly raped a 70-year-old woman as she entered her apartment in Belmont around 2 a.m. on July 27, police said.
Bellot allegedly approached the woman from behind while wearing two plastic masks that covered his face and sexually assaulted and raped the woman, according to the NYPD.
Bellot faces charges for Rape, Strangulation, Predatory Sexual Assault, Criminal Sex Act, Menacing, Unlawful Imprisonment
Police initially reported that the assailant was armed and held the victim at gunpoint, though Bellot has not yet been charged with any gun-related crimes.
