NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A driver suffered multiple facial fractures after he was forced from his car and beaten by a group of five robbers in the Bronx, police said Tuesday as they released images of two of the suspects.

The 36-year-old victim was on his phone in his car at Olmstead and Westchester avenues in the Parkchester section on the evening of Sept. 27 when he was approached by his attackers around 6:40 p.m.

They demanded that he get out of his vehicle, but when he did, they pummeled him in the face and stole his property, according to police.

The victim lost consciousness during the beating. By the time EMS arrived, he'd suffered multiple broken bones in his face that required surgery.

Investigators have determined at least three of the suspects are males, and they have surveillance images of two of them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
