Brooklyn Family Dollar employee repeatedly slashed during robbery, suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who repeatedly slashed a Family Dollar worker during a robbery in Brooklyn last week, authorities said.

The incident happened inside of a Family Dollar located at 3112 Fulton St. in Cypress Hills at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, July 22, the NYPD said.

According to officials, the suspect was inside the store and took merchandise without paying for the items.

When an employee attempted to stop the suspect he proceeded to display a sharp object and slash the employee about the face, arm and neck.

The suspect fled northbound on Hale Avenue with the stolen merchandise.

EMS transported the store employee to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.
