NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A car smashed into an unmarked police vehicle in Brooklyn on Saturday morning, sending three officers to the hospital for treatment, the NYPD said.
At 5:22 a.m. on Saturday morning, officers were driving in an unmarked police car on Hendrix Street.
When the cops were crossing an intersection with a green light, a blue BMW ran through a red going westbound on Atlantic Avenue, police said.
After striking the police car, the BMW veered off into the median.
Officials said that the occupants of the BMW jumped out and got into a silver X5, fleeing the scene westbound on Atlantic Avenue.
All three officers were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center to treat minor injuries, police said.
There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
