NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An actor who was found dead in his luxury Chelsea apartment alongside his 93-year-old mother may have used Febreze to mask the smell of his mother's body before he himself passed away, according to a report.
William Wedell, 48, and his mother Agnes Wedell, 93, were found dead in their apartment on West 23rd Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Law enforcement sources told the New York Post William Wedell likely died around five days after his mother died.
Officers who searched the apartment after his death found bottles of Febreze "throughout the apartment," the outlet reported.
William Wedell, who went by the name Bill, acted in movies including "It Could Happen To You" and "Crimes and Misdemeanors," according to the outlet.
Sources told the outlet Agnes Wedell likely died of natural causes after falling sick; foul play is not suspected in her son's death either.
Police officers "previously responded to the home several times regarding calls about Bill's drinking," the outlet reported.
