NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police on Friday released surveillance footage of a fake FedEx worker who threatened to stab a real package delivery worker while stealing a package last week in Washington Heights.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, a 33-year-old package delivery worker had finished delivering a package in the vicinity of West 159th Street and Broadway, when the suspect, impersonating a package delivery worker, attempted to retrieve the package.

Following a verbal dispute, when the victim attempted to secure the package, the unidentified male displayed a sharp object, made threatening statements, and threatened to stab the victim.

The suspect then snatched the package out of the victim's hand before fleeing on a bicycle going northbound on Amsterdam Avenue.

He was last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt with "Fedex" logo, gray pants, green baseball cap, and black sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
