Gunman fled in Cadillac SUV after fatally shooting man on Brooklyn street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The gunman who fatally shot a 45-year-old man on a Brooklyn street fled the scene in a Cadillac SUV, police said Sunday as they released a photo of the suspect.

Steven Battle was shot in the head outside of 142 Rockaway Ave. near Somers Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, officials said.

Medics transported Battle to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he was pronounced dead. Battle lived in the Belmont section of the Bronx, over 15 miles from where he was killed, police said.

After the shooting, the gunman fled the area in a black four-door Cadillac SUV, police said.

Officials released a photo of the suspected gunman, and he is described as being a man with a slim build, braids and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, light-colored gray jeans and black and white sneakers.
