NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot as he was walking down a street in Queens overnight, authorities said.
At about 8:20 p.m., a 21-year-old man was walking at 19-12 22nd Road in Astoria when he was shot twice in the lower back, officials said.
The man was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he's expected to survive.
The gunman fled the scene.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
An investigation remains ongoing.
