Man arrested in attempted rape at Queens subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man has been arrested for allegedly tackling and trying to rape a woman inside a Queens subway station.

Tyrone Brown, a 38-year-old who cops listed as "undomiciled," was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted rape, sex abuse and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On Dec. 1 at about 6 a.m., police said the suspect approached a 30-year-old woman from behind as she walked up a stairwell at the 169th Street F train subway station in Jamaica.

Police said the suspect tackled the woman and put his hand under her skirt, and then tried to pull her tights down and tried to rape her.

The suspect fled after being spotted by someone passing by, cops said.

The victim refused medical attention.

The arrest was made just hours after the NYPD released footage of the suspect.
