NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A suspect was arrested after an altercation in the Bronx Saturday evening led to the fatal stabbing of a 51-year-old man, police said.

Juan Boria, 51, was stabbed in the abdomen in the vicinity of East 149th Street and Third Avenue in Melrose at about 7:30 p.m.

EMS rushed Boria to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Officials said that Boria was engaged in a fight with Robert Brent, 52, who allegedly knifed him in the stomach during the fight.

The origin of the fight and whether the men knew one another was not immediately apparent.

Brent was arrested five hours after the initial assault and charged with murder, first-degree manslaughter and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
