NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Officials on Thursday arrested a man in connection to a shooting that left one man dead in the Bronx the previous night.
Tykwan McLeod, 45, a Bronx resident faces charges for murder, manslaughter, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
There were three men shot at the intersection of East Mount Eden Avenue and Jerome Avenue in the Mt. Eden section around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police.
A 33-year-old man, identified as Donte Thomas, was shot in the head and rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A 35-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police said a preliminary investigation found that McLeod approached the two men and opened fire multiple times, striking them both.
McLeod was shot in the head during a struggle with the 35-year-old victim, police said. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.

The three shooting victims were among eight people shot in the city on Tuesday, according to WCBS-TV.
A 30-year-old woman was struck in the leg by a stray bullet at an apartment in Far Rockaway, Queens, around 8 a.m.
A 75-year-old woman was also grazed by a bullet on Clinton Street on the Lower East Side Tuesday morning, reportedly by suspects who fled in a car.
Another woman was shot in the head in Far Rockaway around 4 p.m. She was hospitalized in serious condition.
And a man was shot twice in the leg in Washington Heights around 7 p.m.
