Man killed, another injured when vehicle rear-ends dump truck at Brooklyn intersection

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One man was killed and another hospitalized when their car rear-ended a dump truck at an intersection in Brooklyn early Monday, authorities said.

According to police, the men were in a silver sedan near Division Place and Morgan Ave. in the East Williamsburg neighborhood at approximately 1 a.m. when the driver crashed into the back of the truck.

Responding officials pulled an unidentified man from the car and transported him to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 21-year old man was also pulled from the vehicle and taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

It was not immediately clear which man was driving the vehicle, according to police.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured, officials said.

An investigation is ongoing.
