NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police were searching for a suspect Tuesday after a hooded man punched a woman in the face and tried to rape her in Brooklyn last weekend.
NYPD footage appears to show the suspect’s face completely obscured as he walks down a street in Brownsville around the time of the attack Sunday night.
A 25-year-old woman was in the area of Watkins Street and Livonia Avenue around 11:35 p.m. when he assaulted her, police said.
He punched her in the face and tried to remove her clothing before ultimately fleeing the scene, according to cops.
The victim was transported by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.
The NYPD's Brooklyn Special Victims Squad is investigating.
