Eighth-graders at the Manhattan Country School honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and take to the streets of Manhattan to speak out about what they consider to be the most pressing civil rights issues of their time.
Harlem Gospel Choir: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Matinee
Monday Jan. 16, 12 p.m.
The World Famous Harlem Gospel Choir heads to Sony Hall for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day Matinee. General Admission is $32 with limited seating available.
Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.
Saturday Jan. 14, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through interactive performances, protest marches, community art programs, and volunteer projects! Each day features shadow puppet performances and puppet-making, poster-making and protest marching.

BAM is hosting its annual Brooklyn tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration brings together both artists and civic leaders to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a way the kiddies can enjoy.
MLK Day of Service at Forest Park
Monday Jan. 16, 10:30 -12 p.m.
Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Forest Park with a day of service by helping the park and giving back to the community. Volunteers will assist in activities like leaf raking and vine removal. Volunteers will also be provided with quotes to reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. King.
Uptown Hall: MLK Blueprint for Culture

The 17th annual Apollo Uptown Hall MLK celebration focuses on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement of the 60’s as the template for modern social and civil justice movements.
