NYPD bomb squad responds to possible grenade outside Chase bank in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The NYPD's bomb squad responded Tuesday to a possible grenade outside a Chase bank in Queens.

Police got a call around 11:20 a.m. of a suspicious device in front of the Chase at 112th Street and Liberty Avenue in South Richmond Hill.

Upon arrival, cops saw what appeared to be a grenade inside a plastic bag, police said.

The NYPD's bomb squad was assessing the device at the scene.

No injuries have been reported.

The police response led to service disruptions on the A line, which runs along Liberty Avenue. The MTA said no A trains were running between the Rockaway Boulevard and Ozone Park–Lefferts Boulevard stations.
