NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police shot and wounded an alleged car thief, and a second suspect is in custody following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Queens Sunday night, officials said.

Uniformed officers responded to a 911 call and reports of a fight at 125-17 101 Avenue in Jamaica.

Upon arrival, officials were met by a man who claimed to have left his keys inside his car and that two women had stolen his car, officials said.

The officer tracked the victim's cell which was still inside the vehicle to 97th Avenue and Allendale Street.

Officials arrived just before 10 p.m., and the suspects backed the vehicle into a marked police car, prompting one officer to discharge his firearm, striking one of the suspects sitting in the passenger seat in the chest, authorities said.
