NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined striking members of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA Monday morning outside of Netflix's Manhattan offices in the Flatiron District, chanting "New York is a union town, get up, get down" and slamming Hollywood corporate greed.

"Your fight right here is what is going to bust this thing right open," the Democratic lawmaker, who represents parts of Queens and the Bronx said to a cheering audience. "We are in a hot labor summer right now. We've got you all right here, SAG-AFTRA, WGA ... we have UPS in Queens .... they're fighting for their rights too .. We have workers all across the country either currently on strike or gearing up to go on strike because at the end of the day, we are all confronting the same challenge which is .... unprecedented concentration of wealth and corporate greed in Amercia but we know the way to bust that up is to stand up in soliodarity."

Ocasio-Cortez asked the crowd, “How many private jets does [Warner Bros. CEO] David Zaslav need? For real. How many private jets do the CEOs need? It is insatiable. It is unacceptable. I do not know how any person can say I need another $100 million before another person can have health care."

Joining Ocasio-Cortez outside Netflix's offices were actors Sandra Bernhard and F. Murray Abraham. Bernhard tweeted a video of Ocasio-Cortez chanting "New York is a union town," writing, "It was a great day for "sagaftra strike here in NYC. @AOC showed up & it was inspiring thank you to @TheDemocrats for standing by the working class nothing is more important & we love you for it!"

“Direct action gets the goods, now and always,” said Ocasio-Cortez. “The only way that we can do this is by showing them that we are stronger. That our solidarity is stronger than their greed, that our care for one another will overcome their endless desire for more.”
