NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man struck and injured an NYPD officer in Upper Manhattan Sunday night as he fled from cops who caught him urinating in public, police and sources said.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition after the 9 p.m. hit-and-run in Inwood, according to law enforcement sources.

Officers saw the man urinating on Vermilyea Avenue, near West 204th Street, and chased after him, police said.

He hopped in a white vehicle, and as the officers tried to stop him, he drove at them, injuring the one officer, according to police.

The suspect remained at large on Monday.

In a separate incident a few hours before the officer was attacked, a 66-year-old man was slashed across the neck and critically injured in the East Village by a man who he'd asked to stop urinating on a car, police said.
