NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A person of interest was taken into custody after an 87-year-old was stabbed to death during a domestic dispute on Staten Island Thursday night, authorities said.
Just after 9:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at 33A Carmel Ct. in Old Town, officials said.
Upon arrival, police observed Khristi Laxmiben with a stab wound to the
chest.
EMS transported Laxmiben to Staten Island University North Campus where she later died.
The person of interest is the victim's husband and the incident was "domestic in nature," officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
