NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — SNL alum Chris Redd spoke out about the brass knuckle attack in October that left him hospitalized.

Redd said he believes the attack was premeditated, during a radio interview.

Redd was ambushed outside the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village on Oct. 26 and punched in the face with brass knuckles.

The blow cracked a bone in Redd’s face in three places.

At the time, police said the attack may have been an attempted chain-snatching.

Redd said he saw surveillance footage of the perpetrator loitering outside the club for an hour before the attack.

“People called it a random attack. I don’t believe that. He waited for me for an hour before I got there,” he said. “He was on the phone. He had a lookout dude and everything. All I’m saying is this, I’ve never done nothing random where it took me an hour to do it.”

The 37-year-old comedian said he intends to release the footage at some point in the future.

He also complained that police haven’t been communicative with him when he tried to follow up on the investigation, and joked that the attack was the perfect promotion for his HBO standup special.

“No promotion was better than getting knocked in the f***ing face.”
