NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A fare evader at a Manhattan subway station assaulted officers attempting to stop her from entering on Thursday.
It happened around 7:15 p.m. at the 59th Street-Lexington Avenue station, according to police.
Two K-9 officers were inside of the station when they saw the 34-year-old woman jump over the turnstile to enter, officials said.
The officers stopped the woman who tried to jump through a second time.
When they confronted her again, she allegedly punched one of the officers and scratched their hand.
She was taken into custody and faces charges including assaulting and harassment.
The officer was treated for minor injuries.
