Suspect pushes man into tracks at Bronx subway station in random attack

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 26-year-old man was shoved onto the tracks of a Bronx subway station Saturday morning during an unprovoked attack, authorities said.

Just before noon, the victim was standing on the platform at the East 149 Street and Southern Boulevard station when the suspect pushed him, police said.

The victim landed on the roadbed just as a 6 train was arriving. Witnesses were able to help the man climb back onto the platform and avoid the oncoming subway, according to officials.

Emergency responders transported the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition while the suspect fled the station.

The suspect police are searching for is described as having a medium complexion, large black hair, facial hair and a medium build, last seen wearing a black winter jacket, camouflage pants and camouflage sandals.
