Suspects spray Manhattan smoke shop worker with 'unknown substance,' steal $300 in weed

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance footage on Tuesday of two suspects who sprayed a Lower Manhattan smoke shop worker before stealing hundreds of dollars in weed earlier this month, authorities said.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, the men entered Smokers Paradise smoke shop located at 174 Hester St. where one suspect sprayed an unknown chemical substance in the 27-year-old store employee’s face, police said.

The suspects then stole two jars of pot valued cumulatively at approximately $300 dollars, according to officials.

Both suspects fled the location on foot eastbound on Hester Street toward Mott Street.

The victim refused medical attention.
