NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly shooting a driver earlier this week, killing him and subsequently causing a collision with a pedestrian in Queens, police said.
The teen was charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in relation to the Sept. 16 incident in St. Albans.
At about 4:50 p.m., 66-year-old William Alcindor was traveling eastbound on Baisley Boulevard in a gray 2014 Nissan SUV. While turning left onto northbound Farmers Boulevard, he was struck in the head with a bullet.
Once hit, the motorist lost control of his SUV and struck a 23-year-old woman. The pedestrian was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center by EMS in stable condition, and she was treated for injuries to her legs.
Alcindor, of Queens, was taken to the same hospital and pronounced dead.
The suspect was originally described as between the ages of 15 to 18 with black hair, a slim build and clad in all black.
The NYPD does not release the identities of minors charged with crimes.
