NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- In the wake of Henri, the Northeast is now set to see a blast of high heat and humidity.
A heat advisory has been issued across New York City, as well as Nassau, northwestern Suffolk, southern Westchester, Orange and Rockland counties.
In Connecticut, portions of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties are under that same heat advisory, as well as New Jersey’s Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union counties.
The advisory goes into effect Wednesday at noon and currently lasts through 8 p.m. Thursday.
Highs in New York City could hit the 90s Wednesday under sunny skies, with Accuweather meteorologists predicting the humidity making things feel like they’re at or near triple digits.
Thursday looks to bring more temps into at least the upper-80s, but will feel like they’re in the 90s. A thunderstorm is also possible in the afternoon.
Temps look to stick in the 80s past the current heat advisory into Friday, with more chances for thunderstorms.
Con Edison says it’s preparing for any issues the heat may bring.
The utility company is asking customers to conserve energy when possible during the high heat.
Con Ed provided tips on how to better conserve energy — from setting ACs to the highest comfortable temperature, to keeping shades and curtains closed.

This weekend looks to be when the cooldown comes, with both days having highs in the 70s.
The temps come as some places still recover from Henri and its flooding rainfall.
