The home invasion took place around 6:50 p.m. on the Grand Concourse between E 165th and E 166th Streets.

The perpetrators knocked and claimed to be law enforcement. When the victim opened the door they shoved him back into his apartment and pointed a gun at him, police said.

The victim said they weren’t wearing uniforms or badges, but he couldn’t see that through his door.

Officials say the perpetrators took a large amount of cash before fleeing.
