VIDEO: Bronx protesters clash with police outside local precinct

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A small group of protesters clashed with police outside of a Bronx precinct house Friday night, surveillance footage released by the department shows.

The group could be seen shoving barricades into officers trying to hold their ground near the 46 Precinct Station House, while another clip shows protesters dousing an NYPD van in gasoline, according to the NYPD.

"While protesting, the group began to push barricades into police officers protecting the precinct as well as throwing eggs at a marked police van," Sgt. Brendan Ryan, an NYPD spokesman said in a statement.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in what police said was a protest against an off-duty police officer who fatally shot armed 24-year-old Michael Rosado in front of his father nearby.

The protesters also threw eggs at the marked van and scrawled anti-police graffiti on it as two officers sat inside, police said.

Police are attempting to identify the protesters who damaged the van, saying they could face state and federal charges, according to Ryan.
