VIDEO: Suspect snatches man's gold chain after trying to give him fake jewelry: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking for a man and woman duo who they say are behind snatching an expensive chain right at his doorstep in Brooklyn.

On Oct. 17 at 3 a.m., a woman and a man approached a 63-year-old man while going up the staircase it his residence at 47th Street and 9th Avenue.


It was there that police said the suspects tried to exchange fake jewelry for the victim's chain.

When the victim refused, the male suspect snatched the gold chain from his neck, pushed him and fled in a light-colored SUV.

According to police, the snatched chain is valued at $1,500. The victim wasn't injured.

Police described the first suspect as a light-skinned man, approximately in his late-30s, heavy set, with black hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light blue shorts and black sneakers.

The woman was described by cops as light-skinned, approximately in her late-30s with a medium building, black hair and was last seen wearing a black dress.

The NYPD released photos and video from the crime scene, depicting the man exiting his vehicle, then walking up the stairs with the female accomplice behind him.

The purported crime seems to happen off-screen, and then the man goes sprinting down the stairs.
