NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A teen driver is facing charges after plowing a BMW through a group of protesters in Greenwich Village on Wednesday night and injuring at least one person, police said.
Demonstrators had been blocking traffic with their bikes around 10:20 p.m. near the corner of Bleecker Street and W. 10th Street.
The New York Post reported that the demonstrators had gathered near the Sixth Precinct stationhouse on W. 10th Street to call for a sergeant there to be fired.
As demonstrators stopped traffic, the driver started honking his horn to get them to move. Police said he then drove through the protesters.

Video shows a BMW sedan honking at the protesters before plowing through them and speeding off. Members of the NYPD also appear to be in the path of the vehicle as it drives away.
An 18-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, according to PIX11. An officer also suffered minor injuries, according to the Post.
The 18-year-old driver was stopped a few blocks away on Grove Street, near Sixth Avenue, police said.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reckless endangerment.
