
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A blaze erupted just before midnight on Saturday in a Brooklyn residential building which left a 74-year-old woman dead, officials said.

Firefighters responded to a 3-alarm fire a four-story building on Tomkins Avenue. After the fire was extinguished, fire fighters discovered the victim unconscious and unresponsive on the third floor.
EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
An investigation by the FDNY remains ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
