NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 74-year-old woman died after she was hit by a chunk of bricks from a brownstone in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
The collapse happened at about 12:30 p.m., when brickwork from the entrance framework at a three-story building located at 5402 6th Ave. in Sunset Park collapsed and struck the woman, who lived in the building, officials said.
The woman was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
An investigation remains ongoing.
