Woman, 25, slashed by man who attempted to detain her on Brooklyn street: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was slashed in the hand by a man who attempted to detain her using a knife on a Brooklyn street last month, according to police.

The incident was reported to authorities around 11 p.m. on Feb. 28 in the vicinity of Dekalb Avenue and Skillman Street in Clinton Hill, officials said Monday.


Authorities said the 25-year-old woman was walking down the street when she was approached by an unknown man who brandished a knife and began to physically detain her.

The victim was able to fight the suspect off but was cut on her hand in the struggle, police said.

The individual fled on foot southbound on Skillman Street to parts unknown.

EMS transported the victim to Brooklyn hospital in stable condition.

Police describe the suspect as a man, 20-30 years in age.
