Man charged with beating, raping girl he abducted in NJ

PASSAIC, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A man accused of sexually and physically assaulting a child at a New Jersey home was arrested last week, authorities said on Monday.

Stiven Peralta, 22, allegedly also restrained the child when she attempted to leave the home, officials said.

According to prosecutors, Peralta "sexually assaulted and repeatedly physically assaulted a child at a residence in Passaic, restraining the child when she attempted to leave the residence."

Peralta was arrested at 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 13 in the area of Washington Place and Columbia Avenue in Passaic.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault during a kidnapping, sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, false imprisonment, child endangerment and resisting arrest.

His relationship to the child was unknown.

Peralta had been arrested on aggravated and simple assault charges last February. He spent nearly two months in the Bergen County Jail before he was released.

Anyone with additional information about this incident or other incidents involving Peralta are asked to contact the Passaic County tip line at 1-877-370-PCPO.
