CRANFORD, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A New Jersey man was electrocuted at his home Sunday when lightning "charged" a power tool he was using, police said.

The man was using the power tool in his garage on Retford Avenue in Cranford around 1 p.m. when lighting struck.

Police believe the electric current from the lightning "may have charged" the power tool and electrocuted him.

Stormy weather that rolled through the city over the weekend is set to continue this week. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Monday, warning of the potential for severe thunderstorms, damaging wind gusts, hail and flooding.
