After two years of work and nearly half that long building excitement, Papa Roach is officially celebrating the release of their eleventh studio album, EGO TRIP. On Thursday, April 7, in Los Angeles, the band took over the beloved Shakey's Pizza on Santa Monica Blvd. for a one-of-a-kind release party, and we were there to capture the madness.

After dropping a hint that they would be cutting pies into pieces at Shakey's to celebrate the release of EGO TRIP, fans made their way to the Santa Monica Blvd. pizza parlor and were greeted by a wall of death that Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix had set up in the dining room.

Throughout their set, the band brought up quite a few special guest singers and musicians from the crowd to help them keep the party going, including Shaddix's son, Brixton, who absolutely rocked the house.

Papa Roach's brand new album EGO TRIP is available now to stream and purchase via New Noize Records. "Throughout my life I’ve embarked on this constant journey to unravel this...thing," Jacoby says regarding the inspiration behind EGO TRIP. "This eternal paradigm; this struggle between the light and the dark. I see it alive in the world and it’s something I’m constantly trying to find balance in with regards to my own life. Who is at the wheel of my ego?"

Shaddix adds, "Is it the high-frequency version of myself, the one who is more spiritual and self-aware, or is it the low-frequency version who can be selfish, self-centered and self-seeking? Throughout the process of making this record, we had some really profound conversations about life, who is at the helm of our egos and what it is that drives and motivates us."

How excited is Papa Roach to be playing in front of a live audience again? "The shows are off the f*****g chain, man." That’s how frontman Jacoby described the feeling of hitting the stage again when he joined host Morgan Freed on Audacy's Emo Nite late last year. Jacoby continued, "Stepping back on that stage really just made me grateful for this thing that we have in Rock ‘N’ Roll music in this connection that we share."
