The Greenville Health Authority has announced nearly $6 million in grants for local non-profits.

The announcement of the annual Healthy Greenville Grants came earlier this week, funding projects for 11 different non-profit organizations in the County.

"It's a wide range of programs, lots of professional staff doing great work in our community. And we're happy to be able to highlight, uplift and come around and support some of the work that's being done in the community," said Rev. Stacey Mills, the Chair of the Greenville Health Authority Board.

Mills said the Healthy Greenville Initiative was founded in 2017 to help improve the standard of health across the county. "[Our] goal is to make Greenville the healthiest community, or healthiest county, in the country."

• Girls on the Run Upstate SC ($45,000)
• Greenville County First Steps ($600,000)
