The 'Mamma Mia!' cast, then and now

Amanda Seyfried has been all over since “Mamma Mia!” starring in everything from “Les Misérables” to the “Twin Peaks” reboot. Her latest star turn was in “Mank,” which is getting big Oscar buzz, including a nomination for Seyfried for supporting actress.

Not long after “Mamma Mia!” Meryl Streep gave one of her most memorable performances in “Julie & Julia,” but she might be best known these days for her performance in the 2019 season on “Big Little Lies.”

Beyond the “Mamma Mia!” sequel in 2018, Pierce Brosnan has mostly kept to his trademark action flicks like “November Man” and “Survivor,” with a few comedies like “Eurovision Song Contest” and “The World’s End” thrown in too.

Colin Firth has made a career out of being British and honorable and old-timey, with roles in recent years in “The Kingsman” series, “1917,” and “The King’s Speech,” which earned the actor his first Oscar.

Not so secretly the best part of “Mamma Mia!” Christine Baranski went on to recurring roles on “The Good Wife,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and “Bojak Horseman.”

Julie Walters has kept busy in the intervening years with both “Paddington” movies and several “Harry Potter” movies, as well as other film projects like “Brooklyn” and “Mary Poppins Returns.”

Appearances in several “Avengers” movies have kept Stellan Skarsgård on moviegoers’ minds, along with his role in 2019’s “Chernobyl.”

Dominic Cooper has appeared in a bunch of Marvel projects as Howard Stark. He has also shown up in movies like “The Devil’s Double” and had a role for several years on “Preacher.”
