The month-long standoff between Chandler Parsons and the Grizzlies front office didn't result in him playing in a "rehab" assignment with members of the Memphis Grizzlies developmental G-League Memphis Hustle. Fast-forward two months. Last night in Portland, the Memphis Grizzlies finally got their wish as Parsons took the court with players named Washburn, Watanabe, and Hannahs.

In all seriousness one or a couple of the following is true: (a) the Grizzlies are cursed with the injury bug (b) the Grizzlies are holding out players for whatever reason (Maybe gun-shy after watching Valanciunas and others go down for the rest of the season?  Maybe to make the result obvious and save face?), or (c) the Grizzlies continue to have one of the worst medical/training groups in the NBA. Whatever the reason, the result wasn't surprising. Final: Portland Trail Blazers 116 Memphis Grizzlies 89

The race to convey takes another turn on Friday with the Memphis Grizzlies (31-47) taking on the Dallas Mavericks (31-47). It's two teams tied in the tankathon, with a Grizzlies squad that can show pluckiness at times, and show G-League roots at times.  Unfortunately, it was a front office with a goal to convey, by their own admission.

Parsons led the shorthanded Grizzlies squad Wednesday night with 16 points in 25 minutes going three of five from the three-point arc. Essentially Coach JB Bickerstaff spread the minutes-load amongst the available 10-players for Memphis.

Next Game: Memphis Grizzlies (31-47) vs. Dallas Mavericks (31-47), Friday, April 5th, with coverage on 92.9 FM ESPN beginning at 7:00 p.m.
